Why one block per item doesn't scale
Squarespace's Video block shows one video. Its Audio block plays one file. That's fine for a trailer or a single featured piece, but if you publish every week, each upload means another block, and the page is only ever as current as the last time someone edited it.
Squarespace also has a podcast setup built around its blog, where you upload audio to posts and Squarespace generates a feed. That works if you want Squarespace to host your show from scratch. If you already publish on YouTube, TikTok, Twitch or a podcast host, you don't want to move all of that into Squarespace.
ShowHub goes the other way. Keep posting where you post now. ShowHub reads your channels and feeds, and the player on your Squarespace page shows whatever is there.
Adding the Code Block
Copy your snippet from Dashboard → Embed in ShowHub. It looks like this, with your ID in place of the placeholder:
<script
src="https://showhubco.com/embed.js"
data-podcast-id="YOUR_PODCAST_ID"
data-theme="dark"
></script>The pink part is your ShowHub ID. Get yours free in about a minute or preview your show first.
The data-podcast-id attribute is your ShowHub workspace ID. It's the same snippet whether you've connected a video channel, a podcast or both.
Then in Squarespace:
- Open the page where your work should live and click Edit.
- Click an insert point (or Add Block) and choose Code.
- Paste the snippet. Make sure Display Source is unticked, otherwise Squarespace shows the code as text instead of running it.
- Click Save, exit the editor, and refresh the live page.
Some templates need a full page refresh before embedded scripts show up, even outside the editor. If you see nothing, try a private browser window before anything else.
Matching your template
Squarespace templates lean either dark or light. Set data-theme to match: dark for dark templates, light for light ones, or auto to follow each visitor's system setting.
Check the page on your phone too. The player resizes on its own, but Squarespace sections add their own padding, and a player that looks right on a laptop can feel cramped inside a narrow column. If it does, move the Code Block into a full-width section.
A player on every page
If you want your latest work available as people browse, use Code Injection instead of a single Code Block. It's under Settings → Advanced → Code Injection (Business-level plans). Paste the snippet into the Footer box and add data-sticky-position="bottom-right" so the player pins to the corner of the screen.
When you want a page for each upload
The embed puts your catalog on one Squarespace page. If you also want a separate page for every video or episode, with a description and transcript that Google can find, ShowHub can host those on a subdomain of your site like watch.yourstudio.com. Your Squarespace site stays your main site; you add a menu link to the new pages. That needs the Pro plan, because it uses your own domain.
