The snippet
This is the whole integration. You'll copy your own version from Dashboard → Embed in ShowHub, with your ID already filled in:
<script
src="https://showhubco.com/embed.js"
data-podcast-id="YOUR_PODCAST_ID"
data-theme="auto"
></script>The pink part is your ShowHub ID. Get yours free in about a minute or preview your show first.
Don't let the attribute name throw you: data-podcast-id is the ID of your ShowHub workspace, and it works the same whether you've connected a YouTube channel, a TikTok account, a Twitch channel or a podcast. data-theme="auto" follows each visitor's light or dark setting. Change it to light or dark if your site only uses one.
Where to paste it
Pick the editor you use:
Your WordPress editor
Edit the page, click the + button, search for Custom HTML, add the block and paste the snippet into it. Click Update.
Switch from the Visual tab to the Text tab and paste the snippet where you want the player. Switching back to Visual can strip scripts, so save from the Text tab.
Drag an HTML widget onto the page and paste the snippet into it. Click Update.
Add a Code module and paste the snippet into it. Save the page.
In every case, check the published page. The editor preview doesn't run third-party scripts, so an empty box in the editor is normal.
If the player doesn't show up
These are the usual causes, most common first. Work through them one at a time:
Player not showing? Check these in order
Check 1 of 3
Are you looking at the editor preview?
The block editor doesn't run scripts. Open the live URL in a private window instead.
Useful variations
A sticky player. The player can pin itself to the bottom corner of the screen so it keeps playing while people read. Set data-sticky-position to bottom-right or bottom-left.
One video or episode inside a blog post. Writing a post about a specific upload? Add data-episode-id with its ID and the embed shows just that one.
Show it on every page. Add the snippet to your theme's footer (many themes have a "footer scripts" setting, or use a header-and-footer plugin) for a site-wide player.
A shorter list. data-max-episodes caps how many items show. The default is 50.
Mixing platforms
If you post in more than one place, connect each platform to ShowHub as its own source. The player shows them together, newest first, so a WordPress visitor sees your latest YouTube video next to your latest podcast episode without you choosing between them.
If you publish the same conversation as a YouTube video and a podcast episode, ShowHub matches the two by title, date and length and treats them as one item, so your list doesn't show everything twice.
Player now, full pages later
The embed puts your work on your WordPress site. On its own it doesn't create a WordPress page for every upload. If you want those, the ShowHub WordPress plugin creates a page for each episode, with its player, show notes and transcript, and keeps them in sync for you, so there's no second copy to maintain.
If you want each video or episode to have its own page in search results, ShowHub can host those too, on a subdomain such as watch.yoursite.com. That needs the Pro plan for the custom domain. Your WordPress site stays exactly as it is; you link to the pages from your menu. The guide to video SEO on your own site explains what goes on them.
